I have always had a lot of energy and been ready for a challenge. I have learned valuable lessons within each chapter of my life. I listen, and make people feel seen and heard. My past experiences allow me to plan, problem solve and find solutions. I am a tenacious and hard working person, who loves to deliver results. My husband and I retired from dentistry, sold our home and bought a 41-foot Helmsman trawler. We were the first Helmsman trawler to transit the Panama Canal, and we completed The Great Loop of the United States! After seven years of boat-living, we found our perfect, forever home in the friendly village of Port Ludlow. Since 2023, I have participated with the Ludlow Village Players, the Choral Belles, First Wednesday Lunches, Aquasize, Line Dancing classes, Garden Club, and the PLVC roadside clean-up crew.

I am proud to live here and I would love to have your vote and support to join the Port Ludlow Village Council.

Port Ludlow has been my home for over 20 years, and I have seen many changes during that time. What has remained important is the beauty of the area and the people who give their time to help care for our community.

My career has been centered around working with people, listening to their concerns, and helping find workable solutions. I currently serve as Vice President of JCAR, which has given me additional experience working with different viewpoints, planning programs, and taking on leadership responsibilities.

Becoming a member of the Port Ludlow Village Council would be a way to become more involved in the community that has been home for so many years. I would bring the perspective of a longtime resident; a willingness to listen and learn; and a genuine interest in the issues that affect the Port Ludlow community.

I’m a retired Aerospace engineer and move to Port Ludlow in 2024 to be

close to my daughter and grandchildren who live in Hansville while we

reside in Teal Lake Village year around. My career in Aerospace allowed

me to work on short (about 1.5 years) programs mostly with Defense

Advance Projects Agency (DARPA) which made it exciting and interesting.

Previously, I lived in Lawrenceville, Georgia and Laguna Niguel, California

and retired from Raytheon. I was enchanted by the beauty of the North

West, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and small communities on the

Olympic Peninsula. While in California, I volunteered at Mission Hospital, in

Mission Viejo and would like to contribute to the Port Ludlow

neighbourhood by serving on the Board of the Port Ludlow Village Council

and contribute to the development of our beautiful community.

Serving on the Port Ludlow Village Council since October 2024 has given me a working knowledge of the needs and priorities of our community. As Chairperson of the Community Activities Committee, I collaborated with Council members and volunteers to organize and host such fun-filled events, as the Spring Annual Outdoor Community Yard Sale and Fall Annual Canine Parade. Serving on our Communications and Finance & Fundraising Committees has further broadened my role in addressing our residents’ priorities, as well as communicating those to Jefferson County through our Board meetings and Town Halls. I would like to continue this rewarding work by serving for another two years on the Council. As a retired school administrator and through my current involvement in other local clubs and non-profit organizations, I recognize the importance of community involvement in fostering the well-being of our Port Ludlow residents and accomplishing our mission. 

My husband, Geoff, and I moved to Port Ludlow in the spring of 2023 from Snohomish, WA. Our journey to Port Ludlow began many years ago when we first started talking about finding a location to retire. We didn’t know where we would end up, but we started by first making a list of “would likes”. This list included our desire to be in close proximity to water and forests, peaceful surroundings, a place to walk and ride bikes, and at the very top of that list was “community”.

My definition of community, at the time, was enjoying neighborhood friendships and attending events and socials at a local club house. However, as I’ve had the opportunity to live in and explore Port Ludlow, I now realize that my definition of community has changed and it has a deeper meaning. I have enjoyed participating in the events and socials, but I’ve also very much enjoyed giving my time and energy for the benefit of the community, such as helping with holiday decorations, baking for bake sales, cleaning up the roadsides and performing in theater productions.

I look forward to contributing more to the Port Ludlow Community for many years to come. Thank you for considering my request to be a member of the Port Ludlow Village Council.

My wife Evelyn and I along with our lovable golden retriever Mable have lived on Walden Lane for the past 7 years. Prior to that we lived in Poulsbo for 8 years. 

I spend my time working in our orchard and vineyard when I'm not building custom guitars in my workshop. I have been the guitar player and singer in a Kitsap based folk rock band called the Old Growths.

I would like to become a member of the PLVC because I love this town and I feel I have a lot to offer to this community.

I have worked in the woodworking and construction trade my entire life. Starting out as a carpenter/cabinet maker for 20 years and transitioning into estimating and project managing for the duration. I went to school for civil engineering. I am a Leed Accredited Professional (Leed AP) which requires extensive studies in environmental building practices.  

I am a retired licensed Coast Guard captain.

I would also bring a neutral property owner's position to the board. I do not live within either HOA boundaries.  

If elected I would work hard on matters that are dear to our hearts living in this beautiful area. One in particular, our water and sewer, is only going to get worse if we don't start working on a plan for a long term solution. I am a past member of the PLVC Utilities Committee.

I retired from a career in nursing 2 years ago and moved to Port Ludlow, with my husband Jim, to be closer to our two sons. I believe that we are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful location with a welcoming community. I would like to serve on the Port Ludlow Village Council to further support PLVC in their projects which focus on maintaining and improving this beautiful environment. 

In my attempt to feel part of our community, I have Volunteered within the Ludlow Village Players, Yacht Club, Choral Belles, Port Ludlow Singers, Wooden Boat Festival, Farm Tour and helped children at Chimacum Elementary learning to read. Since moving here I have also been fortunate to work in Port Townsend as both a substitute and a volunteer Registered Nurse. I have recently been the Volunteer Coordinator with PLVC. I enjoy meeting new people, learning about our local area, cooking, dancing, singing, acting ,swimming, and walking with friends in the Walkie-Talkies. 

I have experienced the Village Council at work and support all of their endeavors from maintaining our 30 miles of trails, and Holiday Lights, to the Trash Clean Up crew and everything in between. I appreciate that PLVC stands for "all" of Port Ludlow. We have a wonderful community here and the more volunteers we have leads us to a more vested interest into how our community, looks, feels and acts. It's beautiful here because people volunteered to keep it that way and as some people decide to hand over the torch, others have to be there to continue the work. I would appreciate your vote to allow me to be one of those people.

I grew up in Portland Oregon and was a business owner for over 50 years. My wife andI traveled to the Olympic Peninsula for over 30 years and fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of the area.

When we moved to Port Ludlow in the summer of 2024 I attended my first meeting of the Port Ludlow Village Council (PLVC) and found my place in serving our new community.

The goals of the PLVC bringing our community together was the attraction and the many wonderful folks I’ve met in this work keep me engaged in this effort. I’m currently serving as Vice President, the Trails committee board liaison and chairing the Utilities committee.

I’m thankful to be working with so many talented folks on the PLVC board and ask for your consideration in continuing to participate on your Village Council.
